Travel ban to Mexico has been lifted

The U.S. Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and the State Department have lifted their Mexico travel alerts. After monitoring the outbreak of H1N1 flu, also known as swine flu, there is evidence that the Mexican outbreak is slowing down in many cities. Additionally, the CDC cited evidence that an increasing number of H1N1 cases in the U.S. and other countries have proven to not be associated with travel to Mexico.

The CDC has lifted its recommendation that U.S. travelers avoid travel to Mexico, but it still advises Mexico travelers to take steps to protect themselves from the H1N1 flu. This is very good news for Mexico and its port communities, as well as for Americans who have made plans to travel to Mexico.
