Itinerary
Save $300 per couple for Apr 8 and May 13, 2010 departures; Save $800 per couple for Jun 3, Aug 12 and Sep 23, 2010 departures.

- Day 1 - Depart the U.S. for Lima, Peru.
- Day 2 - Lima, Peru: Upon arrival in Peru's capital city of Lima collect your baggage and after exiting the customs area, you will be met by your Tour Host and transferred to your hotel.
Drive through the residential district of Miraflores, where you will enjoy a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean and its beaches. Visit Casa Luna, where the owners welcome you to their home and show you their unique collection of Nativity scenes. Get acquainted with Peru's Capital City, its 2000 years of history and Colonial heritage. Experience the artistic traditions and contemporary lives of its residents. Tour Lima's Historical Center. Larco Herrera Museum, housed in an 18th Century colonial mansion that holds the Most extensive collection of pre-Columbian art in Peru.
- Day 3 - Lima: Drive to the modern district of Monterrico to visit the renowned Gold Museum and admire its priceless collection of pre-Columbian gold artifacts. The afternoon is at leisure. (Breakfast)
- Day 4 - Lima: Breakfast at the hotel. Visit two of Lima's ancient oracle centers with an archaeologist. You will start with Huaca Huallamarca, an oracle centre that functioned for 1,200 years up to the Spanish Conquest. Next visit the Huaca Pucllana archeological center that was active between the 5th and the 8th centuries A.D. (Breakfast)
- Day 5 - Lima/Cusco: We will transfer you from your hotel to the airport, and provide assistance on your departure flight. Upon arrival in Cusco, we will provide assistance and transport you to the hotel in Cusco. We take a tour of the city, starting out at the Santo Domingo convent monastery. This former Colonial monastery was previously the Koricancha temple, one of the most important temples devoted to worship of the sun. According to the chronicles, it was covered in gold Leaf and filled with golden representations of nature. Also included in the tour are stops at the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral. After touring the most interesting sites of the city, you will be driven to the countryside outside Cusco to visit some of the remarkable Inca ruins in the area. Included are the cult centre of Sacsayhuaman, the temple and amphitheatre of Kenko, and the Red Fortress of Puca Pucara. (Breakfast)
- Day 6 - Cusco/Yucay: Breakfast at the hotel. We will provide you with overland transport to the Urubamba valley, where you'll bargain with vendors at a typical market in Pisac. Lunch is at local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will visit the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo, the site was built just as the Spaniards arrived and evidence of how it was constructed is still visible. (Breakfast, Lunch)
- Day 7 - Yucay/Machu Picchu/Cusco: Breakfast at the hotel. We will transfer you to the station to board the train for Machu Picchu. Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes, you will take a 25-minute coach ride to "The Lost City of the Incas", discovered by American explorer Hiram Bingham in 1911. You will then have a guided tour of the marvelous citadel, an awe-inspiring experience. Later, feel free to stroll around the archaeological site. In the afternoon return to Cusco, where we will transfer you to your hotel. (Breakfast)
- Day 8 - Cusco/Puno: After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the bus station. Assistance on departure Bus ride to Puno along the dramatic landscapes of the highland plateau, with occasional views of tiny Andean villages and herds of llamas and vicunas. We will stop at Andahuaylillas, where there is a beautiful baroque church built at the beginning of the 17th century. It is very well known thanks to its beautiful mural paintings. We will make a second stop at Raqchi, where there is an Inca temple built to worship Wiracocha, one of the most important Inca gods. Finally, we will stop at the archaeological site of Pukara (200BC-AD300).We will lunch at a restaurant en route. (Breakfast, Lunch)
- Day 9 - Puno: Breakfast at the hotel. Take a motor boat trip to some of the more unique islands of Lake Titicaca, starting with the utterly fascinating Uros Islands. These islands are completely man made, and its inhabitants continue to maintain them as they have since pre-Columbian times, using Totora reeds from the lake. Then travel to Taquile Island, which is inhabited by quechua speaking natives who have developed both an efficient and original social system and a fine hand-weaving technique over several generations. (Breakfast)
- Day 10 - Puno/U.S.: Transfer from hotel to airport for return departure flight home. (Breakfast)
- Day 11 - Arrive in New York.
