Itinerary
- Day 1 - Depart the U.S. for Italy.
- Day 2 - Montecatini: Upon arrival, proceed to baggage claim and after clearing customs you will be met by the Club ABC Tours representative. Transfer to your hotel. For centuries, Montecatini has been an exclusive world-renowned spa resort, famed for its spring waters, thermal baths and numerous spa treatments. The spas feature numerous treatments including drinking cures, thermal baths, mudpacks, general massages, sub water massages and respiratory treatments. (Dinner)
- Days 3 - 8 - Montecatini: Spend the next six days at your leisure to relax or explore Tuscany on your own. You can select a wide variety of optional tours offered by Club ABC Tours* to explore some of Tuscany's most lovely and famous cities.
If you wish to spend a day in Florence, we suggest that you take the convenient train to the city center. Its striking buildings, formidable galleries and treasure-crammed churches attest to the Florentine love of display. Its elegant appearance and the skyline, with its russet rooftops and lofty domes, contributed to give this city its role of important center for culture and arts. Head for the Duomo, the city's geographical and focus point, ideally placed to see the Giotto's Bell Tower and the Baptistery. Stop in Piazza della Signoria, the political heart of the city and see Palazzo Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery. Admire centuries-old palaces of noble families, museums filled with priceless art or just stop at one of the many quaint shops atop the oldest bridge, Ponte Vecchio.
Don't miss the medieval, walled city of Siena, situated in the center of the Tuscany region, near the Chianti area, famous for its wines and the Maremma area, rich in history, art and popular traditions. The city offers much to see, from the fine palaces that line the narrow cobbled streets and the superb Duomo, to the celebrated Piazza del Campo where the famed Palio horserace is run yearly.
Spend some time exploring nearby San Gimignano, a town of Etruscan origin. Perched on a hill, San Gimignano looks like a town plucked from a fairy tale and set into the Tuscan countryside. Built by noble families, the fourteen towers still dominate San Gimignano's majestic skyline.
You can also visit the Chianti and Vinci area, the beautiful birth town of Leonardo Da Vinci. Visit the museum dedicated to his engineering works. Chianti is considered by many foreigners as "the most beautiful countryside in the world" famous for the wine, enchants every visitor with the beauty of the architecture of its medieval small towns, castles, stone farmhouses. - Day 9 - Montecatini/U.S.: After breakfast, depart for the airport for your return flight home. (Breakfast)
