Transfer to your hotel in Sorrento, a lovely resort situated on the Sorrento Peninsula. This area is particularly known for its unique landscape, where low and high hills, deep valleys and majestic mountains alternate, and where the most impervious areas were transformed into the famous terraces cultivated with orange and lemon trees degrading towards the sea. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Dinner tonight is at the hotel. (Dinner)
- Day 3 -Sorrento/Amalfi Coast: After breakfast enjoy a full day excursion along the Amalfi Coast. Stop in Amalfi, which was once a seafaring Republic rivaling Genoa, Venice and Pisa. Near the waterfront is Piazza del Duomo, dominated by the ninth century Cathedral of Saint Andrea, whose remains are said to be buried in the crypt. Extensively rebuilt and superbly maintained, this fine Cathedral reflects Amalfi's original importance. Enjoy a pleasant scenic walk to the Molini Valley or to the alleys that lead under white arches where curious little shops display ceramics ranging from huge jars to small jugs, all glowing with the appealing colors and designs of the region. (Breakfast)
- Day 4 - Sorrento: Today is a full day at leisure to take an optional tour to Pompei and Capri or to explore the city. See on your own, one of the many churches and ancient monasteries, keepers of valuable memories. Admire the beauty of the old palaces and of the Durazzo Portals, evidence of the wealth of the many noble families living in the area. Visit what is considered the "architectonic jewel" of the town: the fourteenth century Cloister of San Francesco, with crossed tuff arches of Arabian derivation, where the traditional concerts of the "Estate Musicale Sorrentina" take place. Enjoy dinner at the hotel (Breakfast, Dinner)
- Day 5 - Sorrento/Rome: After breakfast depart for Rome. Check in at the hotel, followed by lunch. After lunch enjoy a half-day guided tour of Imperial Rome. Visit the Roman Forum, the most important archaeological area in the city and once the center of the public life; visit the Colosseum, the most famous monument of ancient Rome and an impressive testament to her past greatness. (Breakfast, Lunch)
- Days 6 & 7 - Rome: Enjoy two days is at leisure to take optional tour or to discover the ancient and modern aspects of this cosmopolitan city. Romans say the "Rome wasn't built in a day", nor can Rome be seen in a day. One could live in the Eternal City for years and still not see everything. It's hard to say what you'll find most breathtaking: Etruscan tombs, Republican meeting rooms, imperial temples, early Christian churches, medieval bell towers, baroque basilicas or Renaissance palaces. Stop at a "trattoria" in Trastevere to try the local cuisine, sit outside of a caffé on elegant Via Veneto or maybe shop in fashionable Via Condotti or, for a wonderful range of art, antiques and antiquities shops, visit Via Margutta. The days are yours to enjoy and to live the city like the locals do. (Breakfast)
- Day 8 - Rome/Florence: After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Florence, the Cradle of Renaissance. Its striking buildings, formidable galleries and treasure-crammed churches attest to the Florentine love of display. Its elegant appearance the skyline, with its russet rooftops and lofty domes, contributed to give this city its role of important center for culture and arts. After check in at your hotel, enjoy a walking tour of Florence. Marvel at the Duomo, the city's geographical and focus point, ideally placed to see the Giotto's Bell Tower and the Baptistery. Stop in Piazza della Signoria, the political heart of the city and see Palazzo Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery (entrance not included). (Breakfast)
- Day 9 - Florence/Venice/Florence: Today, take a full day trip to visit Venice, one of Europe's most romantic cities. Venice can be described as a magical tapestry of Renaissance buildings perched on narrow canals with sleek gondolas gliding silently beneath ornate bridges that will leave you breathless. The riches of St. Mark's alone bear witness to Venice's position as a world power from the 12th to 14th centuries and today her "palazzo" have become museums, shops and hotels. Succumb to the magic of this improbable place whose "streets are full of waters" and where the glories of the past are evident at every turn. Once in Venice meet your local guide for a walking tour starting from Piazza San Marco. See the majestic Doge's Palace and Giotto's Bell Tower. Visit St. Mark's Basilica, a marble and golden fantasy and one of the most gorgeous containers ever built to display the relics of a saint. Return to Florence for overnight. (Breakfast)
