Dubai is the 'City of Merchants', a city of unparalleled grandeur, a city that boasts year round sunshine. A perfect getaway for everyone, shoppers, business people, families and adventure seekers - there is something for everyone. One of the most fantastically developed cities of the world, Dubai offers unlimited leisure activities.
Located on the pristine shores of the Arabian Gulf, Dubai is one of the seven emirates that form the United Arab Emirates. It is a city of contrasts with a distinctive blend of a contemporary city, set against a background of the timeless desert. Here centuries old traditions thrive alongside development, where east meets the west to form a culture that is at once intriguing and warm.
For centuries, this enchanting city has enthralled thousands of seafarers and merchants. Today, it still lives on its age-old values of hospitality and prides itself on a booming economy with an accent on trade and tourism. A very safe city, Dubai features some of the world's finest hotels, ultra modern sport and leisure facilities and of course spectacular shopping!
- Day 3 - Dubai: This morning after breakfast at the hotel, depart for a half-day tour of this fascinating city, also referred to as the "City of Gold". Your journey begins at the magnificent Jumeirah Mosque and continues along the Jumeirah road, which is a most luxurious urban area in Dubai. Pass in front of the Mercato themed shopping mall and stop for photographs at the Burj Al Arab Hotel (Arab Tower). Then head along the skyscraper area of Sheikh Zayed Road, also referred to as "Little Manhattan", where we pass by the Emirates Towers and the Dubai World Trade Centre. Then we drive along the Abeel road, passing by the Palace of Sheikh Mohammad, as well as the Rashid Palace (no photography). From here, head towards the Dubai Creek, where we also make a stop for photographs of the Creek side. Thereafter you proceed towards 'the Bastakiya district', which is the old part of Dubai, where you find the old, wind tower houses, which were built by the wealthy merchants of the past. The next stop is the 150-year-old Al Fahidi Fort Museum, which shows some interesting artifacts that throw light on Dubai's historical links with trading and pearl diving.
The tour then takes us to the Abra Station (the ancient water taxi ferry), to take a short ride across the creek. Before ending the tour walk through the famous Spice and Gold Souqs, which will dazzle your senses and give you an insight into Dubai's growth as a major trading centre. Lunch and the afternoon are at your leisure.
This evening, enjoy a romantic dinner aboard a traditional Arabic Dhow that glides silently along the creek of Dubai under a starry sky. This cruise aboard this traditional wooden vessel offers an intriguingly different view of this amazing city. Enjoy the scenery by night with its beautifully lit city, which is truly mesmerizing. Admire the architecture of places such as the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, the spectacular Chamber of Commerce building and also Sheikh Saeed's house and the Heritage Village. A sumptuous dinner is served whilst you cruise along. Enjoy the delicious taste of true Arabian hospitality. This unforgettable romantic evening cruise includes an international buffet dinner. Relax! Indulge! Enjoy! Return to your hotel for the night. (Breakfast, Dinner)
- Day 4 - Dubai/Desert Safari: Breakfast is at the hotel followed by morning at leisure. This afternoon, around 4:00pm, head out to the desert for a Desert Safari Extravaganza!! Proceed to the high dunes to do 'dune bashing'. For the adventurous, the driver takes you on a roller coaster ride dune after dune, before giving you a short break at a camel farm to see the 'ship of the desert'. Wait at the top of one of high dunes watch a magical sunset.
Drive to a Bedouin camp after sunset, where you are welcomed in traditional Arabic style with dates and Arabic coffee. Settle in for the evening to the sound of the Arabic live band and different dancers giving a glimpse of Arabian culture. Listen to music playing while sipping on drinks from the open bar. The ladies can have their hands painted with beautiful designs drawn by henna ladies whilst the men can smoke the 'sheesha' (Hookah) popularly known as the hubbly-bubbly. End the evening with a sumptuous barbeque dinner and a belly dance show performed by an expert dancer. Return to the hotel by 4x4 vehicles after a memorable evening. Return to your hotel for the night (Breakfast, Dinner)
