Costa Rica Vacation Packages & Hosted Tours

Costa Rica Discovery- 9 Days
HostedCosta Rica Vacation Packages from Club ABC Tours

  • Day 1 - U.S./San Jose, Costa Rica: Depart U.S. for San Jose, Costa Rica's capital city. Upon arrival, proceed to baggage claim and after clearing customs you will be met by your local Club ABC representative. Transfer to your all-inclusive resort hotel in San Jose. One of today's most popular vacation spots, Costa Rica is a land of volcanoes, pristine rainforests, tropical beaches and exotic wildlife. Despite its size, Costa Rica has some of the most biodiversity of any country in the world. Costa Rica is well protected by an extensive system of national parks that cover over 11% of the country. Here you can see many species of birds, reptiles, monkeys, sloths, caimans, flowers and trees. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the pool or explore some of San Jose's interesting museums, including the Jade Museum, the Gold Museum or the nearby Butterfly Garden. You can arrange for these and other tours through the hospitality desk at the hotel or explore the city on your own. (All-Inclusive)
  • Day 2 - San Jose/Bahia Ballena: After a buffet breakfast at your hotel, travel northwest for approximately five hours by bus and ferry, through some of Costa Rica's most interesting countryside to your all-inclusive resort in magnificent Bahia Ballena (Whale Bay) in the lush natural setting of Punteranas province. Playa Tambor, on the southern tip of Nicoya Peninsula in Bahia Ballena, is one of many beautiful spots that make this country such an exceptional and unique destination, with an endless range of exotic fauna and flora species to discover. Here, with the volcanic sands and the gentle swell of the sea constantly reflecting the splendid blue of the sky, make this the perfect place for sunbathing, outdoor activities or simply strolling barefoot along the long beach. Nearby Cabo Blanco Natural Reserve is a beautiful refuge for sea birds, including brown pelicans, frigate birds and brown boobies. Flowing from the river of the same name, the magnificent Montezuma waterfalls are surrounded by lush forest. (All-Inclusive)
  • Days 3 - 6 - Bahia Ballena: Relax at your resort. The all-inclusive program covers everything necessary to make your vacation unforgettable, including meals, snacks, beverages, non-motorized waters and nightly entertainment. Optional activities at additional cost include horseback riding, motorboats, scuba diving and deep-sea fishing. During your stay you might explore the rich natural wonders of this small country with one of the optional tours offered at the resort's tour desk. The nearby Curu National Wildlife Refuge offers plenty of bird watching for hummingbirds, king fishers and manakins, as well as howler and white-faced monkeys. Other Costa Rica highlights include an optional naturalist-led walk through Guanacaste National Park, Guayabo National Monument or Monteverde Cloud Forest. (All-Inclusive)
  • Day 7 - Bahia Ballena/San Jose: This morning, return to San Jose and transfer to your all-inclusive hotel. When night falls, the city lights up with a lively nightlife at the many bars and casinos. (All-Inclusive)
  • Day 8 - San Jose: Today is at leisure to explore San Jose on your own or take an optional tour. A unique optional one-day tour features a drive through country towns, coffee plantations and tropical flower plantations to Poas Volcano, a spectacular active crater. Visit La Pa and San Fernando Waterfalls where you'll see hundreds of hummingbirds. Continue along the Sarapiqui River looking for monkeys, iguanas, crocodiles, sloths, turtles, butterflies and colorful birds. Before returning to San Jose, pass through Braulio Carrillo National Park, one of the most biologically diverse parks in Costa Rica with one of the richest canopy communities in the world. Another interesting optional tour is the Aerial Tram tour, an aerial excursion through the rain forest canopy home to two-thirds of all rain forest species, accompanied by local guides. You can select an optional excursion to the popular Arenal Volcano, white-water rafting trip, jungle river cruise, tour a coffee plantation or enjoy a shopping excursion to Sarchi, Costa Rica's famous craft village. (All-Inclusive)
  • Day 9 - San Jose/U.S.: Transfer this afternoon to the airport for your overnight flight home. (Breakfast)
  • Day 10 - U.S.: Arrive in New York early in the morning.
