Know Before You Go: Transfers
March 2007
What is the benefit of traveling from a gateway airport?
Whenever possible, we suggest that members make their own way to the primary gateway airport in order to benefit from the included transfer. Even for members living far from the airport it might be more convenient to go to the gateway airport to meet the transfer upon arrival than to arrive in a foreign airport and have to find ground transportation.
When will a Club ABC Tours rep or guide meet me at the airport for my transfer?
If your transfer is included, you will be met past the secured areas, after you have gathered your luggage and cleared customs. In response to worldwide security issues, our reps and guides generally are not allowed in secured areas.
How will I recognize the Club ABC Tours rep?
Most reps will have a sign marked "Club ABC Tours.” In some cases, the rep may have the name of the local operator which will be indicated in your final documents prior to your departure.
What are the gateway airports in the New York tri-state area?
Newark Liberty and JFK are the primary airports, and they can also be considered an alternate gateway, depending on the trip. That is, if the brochure or website says JFK, but other gateways available, that means Newark will be the "alternative gateway" and will not have transfers included.
