BARBARA OR BABS?…
Only Your Passport Knows for Sure
Ready to book your next vacation? Remember to check your passport or have it handy before making your reservation, especially if you are booking for other family members or friends. Passports are now required for all air travel outside of the domestic U.S and all land, air and sea travel by January 2008, including Alaska cruise itineraries that include a flight to or from Vancouver.
Important to check:
1. Passport Name: All bookings must feature your “official” passport first and last name. (Avoid $200 name change charges!)
2. Expiration Date: Passports must be valid six months after your return date.
If you don’t have a passport or your passport has expired, please contact the U.S. Travel Department as soon as possible. Due to high demand, passports can take up to 10 weeks, though expedited services generally takes about 2 weeks. Renewals may be processed by mail, but first-time applicants or minors must apply in person at a Passport Acceptance Facility. Many post offices, clerks of court, public libraries and other state, county, township and municipal government offices accept passport applications, but we recommend that you call ahead to confirm. You can also search for the nearest facility by zip code at http://iafdb.travel.state.gov/
